Rights of Adolescents to Life, Survival & Development

As children and adolescents constitute the highest demographic strata in Egypt, it is essential to put their welfare as one of the country’s priorities. NCCM, therefore, has made it an essential task to define and implement many of their rights, especially the right for proper health care.

The rights of adolescents have been defined in accordance with the rights of the child that are protected and developed to ensure healthy development and maturity.

Of the most important of these adolescent rights is the right to receive proper heath care. Therefore, NCCM aims to provide adolescents with awareness by dispensing information that is suitable for their physical and psychological development.
This includes information on certain practices, such as early pregnancies and protection from transmitted diseases, such as HIV and Hepatitis.

As it also seeks to provide awareness for developing personal hygienic habits, dealing with peer pressures and decision-making.
Most of all, NCCM it seeks to provide proper information on reproductive health as it has successfully eliminated any doubt about the necessity of dealing in an educated and scientific manner with teenage pregnancies and reproduction.
